Porcelain Veneers in Southwest Houston, TX

Custom, Natural-Looking Enhancements for Your Smile.

Porcelain dental veneers are custom-made, ultra-thin shells that bond to the front surfaces of teeth to improve their shape, color and overall appearance. Veneers can provide a durable, attractive solution for chipped, stained, mildly misaligned or unevenly spaced teeth.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain closely mimics the translucency and color of natural enamel while resisting stains. Veneers may improve:

  • Chipped, cracked or worn teeth
  • Discoloration that does not respond to whitening
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Mild alignment concerns
  • Irregularly shaped or uneven teeth

Unlike crowns, which cover the entire tooth, veneers generally require only a small amount of enamel preparation. With proper care, they can last for many years.

The Porcelain Veneer Process

  1. Consultation and smile design: We evaluate your teeth, discuss your goals and create a personalized plan.
  2. Tooth preparation: A small amount of enamel is removed and impressions are taken for the dental laboratory.
  3. Veneer placement: Your custom veneers are bonded securely, then adjusted for comfort and appearance.

Caring for Your Veneers

Porcelain Veneer Questions

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Veneers often last 10 to 15 years or longer with good hygiene, routine dental visits and protection from excessive biting forces.

Are veneers painful to get?

Local anesthesia can keep enamel preparation comfortable. Mild sensitivity afterward is possible but usually resolves within a few days.

Can porcelain veneers be whitened?

No. Porcelain does not respond to traditional whitening, so natural teeth are usually whitened before veneer shades are selected.

Are veneers right for everyone?

Untreated decay, gum disease, heavy grinding or insufficient enamel may require other care first. A consultation determines the safest option.
